A DITA Topic or DocBook 5.1 document containing media elements is expected to be converted to XHTML 5 based formats, that is, XHTML 5 multi-page or single-page, Web Help containing XHTML 5 pages or EPUB 3. In practice, this means that you'll have to use Options → Customize Configuration → Customize Document Conversion Stylesheets to select the XSL stylesheets which target XHTML 5 based formats.
